Petition Statement
It is time for a law that makes out and out baldfaced lying for political gain an offense punishable my huge fines. If a politician or his PAC is generating lies that can be refuted 100% by the facts, those parties should face enormous fines. If they are going to slander their opponent, let's make sure that it is the TRUTH!
Petition Background
Since we are stuck with "Citizens United" and unlimited corporate money in politics, we should at least get TRUTH in advertising. This will hold politicians accountable with what they say in ads. Right now, lies are allowed to be perpetrated with no penalty. This must stop!
