Make the mental and emotional health of the youth in this country a priority by federally mandating mental/emotional health classes in every U.S. school. These classes would teach the importance of one’s mental/emotional health, would teach children that feeling emotions is a natural and healthy part of being human, and would teach the many different healthy ways of expressing these emotions. These classes would discuss bullying and teach children the psychology behind it all, and would teach acceptance and compassion for others by starting with acceptance and compassion for oneself.
Why is this important?
Extreme violence is occurring at an alarming rate throughout our nation’s schools and campuses. We need to rise together as one nation and protect our children and the very future of this country. As a result, we’d see less shootings, stabbings, and acts of violence in general, as well as less bullying, and less alcohol and drug abuse.
