All people should have access to the most basic of human rights, that being life; consequently, we need actions which will expand access to broader forms of medical care and eliminate institutionalized racism, sexism, and bigotry. We, the undersigned, continue to stand for civil rights, and hope you will stand with us in passing meaningful legislation.
Why is this important?
As the recent events in Charlottesville, Virginia, have horrifyingly demonstrated, the fight of the Civil Rights Movement and the many movements before and after must continue today. We cannot, and will not, capitulate to the temptation of inaction. Instead, we will stay engaged, stay informed, and work to improve our world.
