President Obama: Prevent Trump's Muslim Registry

President Obama must immediately revoke the regulatory framework of the Bush-era registry program called National Security Entry-Exit Registration System (NSEERS), which predominantly targeted Muslim immigrants based on their countries of origin. In the hands of Donald Trump, this program can potentially be used to target, register, and deport Muslims--on a much larger scale than previously implemented. This is the moment to shut this program down once and for all and to resist any new effort.

Tell Congress: Don't let Big Pharma hijack the 21st Century Cures Act

We need to invest in medical innovation in America -- and Congress has spent years negotiating a pretty decent bill. But in the final days of this Congress, that 21st Century Cures bill has been hijacked by Big Pharma and big Republican donors. Tell the House and the Senate to stand up to Big Pharma and vote NO on this bill until we get a better deal on the 21st Century Cures Act.

Oregon: Fund education not executions!

Governor Brown recently announced the state budget which includes tax increases and service cuts to make up for a huge $1.7 billion dollar deficit. Meanwhile, a recent report found Oregon spends twice as much on incarceration as it does on college and our high school graduation rate is the third worst in the nation. A new study shows Oregon spends tens of millions of dollars on a death penalty system that isn't used. There hasn't been an execution in almost 20 years! We should free up the millions spent on this system and put it towards other priority issues facing...

Abolish the Electoral College

Amend the constitution to abolish the Electoral College. Hold presidential elections based on popular vote. One person one vote to determine the one leader who is supposed to answer to all the people of the country.

Tell U.S. Mayors: Protect Undocumented Immigrants - Declare Your City a Sanctuary of Safety! #HereToStay

Trump has said he will deport millions, and anti-immigrant harassment is already out of control. It is time to declare America’s cities as sanctuaries of safety and not allow local police to do the work of immigration agents. If your city is not already, declare it a sanctuary city. And if it is, commit to do everything in your power to maintain your sanctuary status and protect your undocumented residents from a Trump administration.

Fight back against any and all anti-environmental attacks by the Trump administration and polluting leadership

This is my pledge to Donald Trump and the Republican leadership: I am ready to fight, day in and day out, to make sure I do everything in my power to protect the planet I love. I pledge to fight back against Trump when he caves to polluter's demands. I pledge to fight back against attacks on efforts to cut carbon pollution like the Paris Climate Agreement and Clean Power Plan. I pledge to defend our treasured public lands.

"Day One, My First Hour in Office, Those People Are Gone" Support Sanctuary Cities

The random selection of people of color or religion, many having lived in the U.S. all of their lives, are in danger of being uprooted overnight, sent to jail-like detention centers, and deported with nothing but the clothes on their backs; their families torn apart. They will be subject to being detained and ID'd to determine their legal status or religious belief. They can be detained indefinitely. The vast majority have no one advocating on their behalf, so the process may take years. Cities are mandated to enforce local laws; they are not mandated to enforce federal immigration laws. 200...

Stop Steve Bannon

Members of Congress must stop Donald Trump's appointment of Steve Bannon as a White House chief strategist and senior counsel. There is no place for a white supremacist, anti-Semitic misogynist in the White House.

Don't let the U.S. become a kleptocracy

We only have a brief window of time before the inauguration to enact strong checks and balances like the Presidential Accountability Act (H.R. 6340) and ensure that presidents cannot use the office to enrich business interests, engage in nepotism, or pilfer the national treasury. If you think Donald Trump will put your principles and the nation ahead of money and personal power, then you haven't been paying attention to his entire life story.

Launch a federal investigation into Donald Trump's conflicts of interest

President-elect Donald Trump is refusing to adequately address his unprecedented conflicts of interest and put his assets into a blind trust. House Oversight Chair Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) was ready for "years" of investigations into a potential Clinton administration. Now, he must turn that same level of scrutiny on President-elect Trump and conduct a full investigation into his financial holdings, root out any potential conflicts of interest, and hold him accountable. Tell the chair of the House Oversight Committee to hold investigations unless President-elect Trump puts his assets into a blind trust.

Tell President-elect Trump: Drop Steve Mnuchin

Throughout your campaign for president, you promised to "drain the swamp" of Washington and Wall Street insiders — which is why your appointment of Steve Mnuchin comes as a surprise to working families. Americans don't want the same Wall Street bankers rigging the system. I urge you to drop your appointment of Mnuchin as Treasury Secretary immediately.

Tell Donald Trump Myron Ebell is Unacceptable for the EPA

Dear President-Elect Trump, Climate change is affecting our lives much sooner than we expected, from public health risks to extreme weather and even our national security. Your decision to tap climate-denier Myron Ebell to lead the EPA transition – a man who rejects science and laughs in the face of this serious threat to Americans nationwide – is dangerous and irresponsible. You promised to be a president for the people and it’s time to make good on that promise. I urge you not to nominate to Myron Ebell to be EPA Administrator and remove him as the leader of the...
