Abolish the filibuster
In the interest of restoring basic democratic principals to American government; We the undersigned to this petition do hereby demand that the usage of the filibuster and the 60 vote requirement to pass legislation within the United States Senate, be abolished from the Senate Rules of Operation.
Why is this important?
The filibuster and the 60% requirement in the Senate to pass legislation is a blatant usurpation of our democracy! It has become a perpetual and pathetic excuse for inaction on both sides of the isle within the United States Senate. Americans who value the democratic principal of majority rule should demand that the filibuster be abolished immediately.
