Appoint a Hudson County resident to Port Authority Board of Commissioners

Following the resignation of Port Authority of NY & NJ Commissioner Caren Turner, it's time to renew the call for Hudson County representation on the Port Board of Commissioners. Essex, Mercer, Middlesex, and Union counties have representation on the board right now, but no Hudson resident sits on this major agency's board and has our backs!

Why is this important?

The Port Authority of NY & NJ is governed by a 12-member Board of Commissioners. The governors of NY and NJ each nominate six state residents. Four other counties have representation on the board right, but no resident of Hudson sits on the board. The Port Authority has no greater impact in NJ than it does right here in Hudson, which hosts six of seven of NJ's PATH train stations, both major tunnels, Port Jersey, Port offices at 2 Montgomery Street in Jersey City, and the JSQ transportation hub.

Please join this call to Governor Murphy to fill this new vacancy with a Hudson resident! Please sign and share. (Read more: http://s.nj.com/UmO4WZD)
