Demand Healthy School Lunches

Sonny Perdue, Trump's new USDA Secretary, has rescinded Obama Era rules for healthy school lunches. Children will now be served more refined sugar and saturated fat; two food additives known to cause health problems later in life. Demand this decision be reversed.

Why is this important?

As a registered nurse, I know the negative impact on health of refined sugar and saturated fat. These food additives can cause a range of health problems. 1. refined sugar contributes to diabetes with it's neurological and kidney complications; 2. saturated fat contributes to breast cancer and heart disease. Health care costs and mortality rates will increase.
