Disband the CIA
The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) was created during the Cold War in hopes to make information more available and more digestible to the President of the United States. George Washington and our founding fathers were aware of Benedict Arnold, but notice they did not create a centralized intelligence apparatus which remained opaque to the electorate. So this is our plea to the incoming President of the United States - restore the Republic and restore transparency so that the People can rightfully assume their role of oversight.
Why is this important?
We're all affected by this issue. We've effectively won the Cold War. The way the existing CIA operates is proving dangerous to our democracy. Let's no longer allow the bureaucrats to decide what you deserve to hear and what they consider too sensitive for public knowledge based on their idea of "National Security." Let's no longer allow them refuge by hiding their secrets under the excuse of National Security!
How many intelligence agency whistle-blowers have to come forward before you recognize that they do not have our best interests at heart? Think about it - by keeping you in the dark, they are telling you that they DO NOT TRUST YOU with state secrets. If they can't trust YOU, then why should YOU trust them?
Sure, conspiracy theories abound, but what better way to restore the trust of the American people than by disbanding those structures which forbid our - the People's - oversight!
