Drilling Off Of the New Jersey Coast
President Trump has given the okay for oil/gas drilling off of our valuable coastline. We need enough signatures to try and stop this due to the harm it will cause to marine wildlife, recreation, fishing, beach nesting birds and tourism. We know that all drilling operations have leaks that cannot be quickly and efficiently contained, and will ruin/destroy everything we love about our coastline.
Since the President enjoys time in the great state of Florida, he should understand our concerns very well about such a fragile ecosystem.
Why is this important?
The New Jersey coastline brings in huge amounts of revenue to the state and keeps many small businesses operating through tourism.
The state of Florida (governed by Republican Rick Scott) will not have drilling off of it's coastline due to the relationship between President Trump and Rick Scott and the location of Trump's resort, Mar-A-Lago ("not in my backyard" attitude). New Jersey deserves to have the same privilege - NO DRILLING IN NEW JERSEY!
