Why is this important?

Part time community college instructors earn, on average, 50 cents on the dollar compared to full timers. Moreover, we receive no benefits, no tenure, and no pension. We need pay equity NOW!

Thank you CPFA and El Chorro members for signing. I think if we can get California to achieve pay and benefit parity, other states will hopefully follow suit. In Oregon, the gap is even wider. Thanks to the WA instructors who also support CPFA.

I attended the CPFA online conference today. Sadly, the plight of part time faculty has deteriorated even more, resulting in one of our colleagues committing suicide. We need equal pay for equal work!
