Fluoroquinolones: Take Them Off The Market

There are plenty of other drugs out there that have the ability to kill bacterial infections, such as doxycycline or a macrolide. In many cases, these drugs are prescribed as a first line defense against multiple simplistic infections that your average antibiotic could take care of. In 2010 Levaquin was the top selling drug in the US, and was coupled with more than 2000 lawsuits and countless others that would not seek legal action against these drugs for their debilitating side effects. The pain and suffering must stop here, petition to take all Fluoroquinolones off the market.

Why is this important?

The United States Food and Drug Administration approved drugs within the family of Fluoroquinolones (Levaquin, Cipro, Avelox, Floxin), while wide-spectrum antibiotics, have serious side effects that can damage an individuals long term health. These drugs, while in some cases beneficial have proven too dangerous to the public and need to be removed from the market.
