Nebraskans want Affordable Care Act Now!
Dear Governor Heineman, please let Nebraskans who don't have health insurance go to the doctor. Implement the Affordable Care Act's Medicaid expansion NOW.
Why is this important?
On June 28, 2012, Governor Dave Heineman promised to block any effort to expand Nebraska's Medicaid program under the Affordable Care Act. He said they need to "study this."
The truth is the Medicaid expansion in the Affordable Care Act is FULLY funded for the first three budget years! Most of the costs don't even kick in until 2020, and the federal government will cover 90% of the cost then and beyond.
Why should Nebraskans continue to suffer without help from a doctor while Gov. Heineman drags his feet? We need to tell him to implement the expansion NOW, and he can study it later... when it is no cost to the state.
