Preserve Waterfront RV Camping on Mission Bay

For more than 45 years, Campland on the Bay has been a beloved, family-friendly destination and important economic asset for Mission Bay Park and the City of San Diego. Campland hosts more than 100,000 guests annually, more than half of whom reside in San Diego. Through its operations, Campland generates more than $2.5 million annually in lease and tax revenues for the city and attracts visitors who support local businesses. Serving as a dedicated and longstanding environmental steward, Campland proudly supports organizations devoted to protecting the natural resources of Mission Bay.

Campland on the Bay provides essential recreational amenities and economic benefits for Mission Bay. We urge the City of San Diego to preserve the vital community asset of waterfront RV camping for the benefit of all San Diegans and visitors alike. Campland on the Bay must be preserved and enhanced for generations to come, either in its existing location or on the “boot” of De Anza, the only suitable alternative location for waterfront RV camping identified in the Mission Bay Park Master Plan.
