Public Land for public good

To be delivered to Brian Golden, BPDA and Sheila Dillon, DND

Petition Statement

To the City of Boston: Public land is a precious resource, and we believe that community control is important to ensure that public, community needs are prioritized. When disposing of public land, we urge that the City give highest priority to proposals that 1) conform to the community master plan or community-defined priorities, 2) include affordable housing goals that match the community's needs and provide for the longest term of affordability, and 3) offer the highest level of community resident ownership and control.
There are currently 273 signatures. NEW goal - We need 300 signatures!

Petition Background

As local planning processes happen across the City, we need a City-wide strategy to prevent displacement. City agencies that hold land should explicitly put these priorities in their Requests for Proposals.
