Trump and Congress: Focus on hurricane relief and continuing children's health coverage, NOT tax cuts!
Why is this important?
The Trump administration is pushing through a tax agenda that will benefit profitable corporations and wealthy individuals at the expense of low- and middle-income children and families.
Meanwhile, the administration has fallen short in its response to the disaster in Puerto Rico. Congress missed the deadline to extend the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and is now attempting to attach Medicaid cuts to the bill in order to fund the Trump tax cuts. The pattern is clear.
Our government should prioritize the needs of children and families, not corporations and the wealthiest individuals.
