Revamp the Cook County Probate Court System

Trying to save more Black Children! We ask ourselves why, and how. Why are there so many young black males who seem to be lost, as they have no understanding of life? When you and the police are dealing with them, it is sad to say it is on the other side of a gun. Well, it is true that over 80 percent of these young men are made in DCFS and Cook County Probate Court system.
It is a system that is set up for them to fail. When it just happens that one seems like he might make it, well that must be stopped. I can tell you first hand the madness that goes on in Room 1806 of the Cook County Probate court. As well as in DCFS; as you see, I have seen family member after family members go through both.
Check the records and investigate the backgrounds as of over 80 percent of those men that are lock up in Cook County Jail or the IDOC have at one time in their lives been in DCFS care or under Cook County Probate court and or both!

Why is this important?

I have spent over 11 years going into room 1806 to sit and watch as those Judges sit on the bench destroying the lives of young men of color. They do not look at them as people, and they sure do not look at the people that spend the time, money to give them a chance in life. As the Judge in room 1806 told my wife and me in so many words, we are just unpaid babies sitter (for 11 years so far), and we have no rights.
I say pay the Guardian or remove children from the probate systems and turn the care of them over to DCFS or anyone else. As I cannot sit and watch another young person of color go through 1806, just to end up being a guest of the county jail. I cannot sit back and keep seeing this unjust be done and say nothing.
The Judge in Room 1806 gave once a week for 6 hours of unsupervised visit to a person that lost custody of a child 11 years ago. Has not and could not regain custody as does not have a place to live. As such she is living with a known gang member. This Judge felt that this was a safe environment for this young men, after all trying to set this young man on the path to go to school and make something out of his life is not the path the Judge wants.
