Prohibit the use of bodygrip traps on the ground in MN.
Why is this important?
This is important because trappers are still killing our dogs and the legislature is failing to act.
On December 17th, 2011 my precious dog Penni was killed in a bodygrip trap baited with beaver meat on public land in Crow Wing County. She meant the world to me. And now my world is shattered. Nine days later another dog named Sue was killed in a bodygrip trap set in a wildlife management area near Staples.
We have records of more than 96 MN dogs killed in body grip traps and lethal snares. It is legal to kill our dogs with these traps and snares.
Thank you for signing. Please keep spreading the word. We can get the law changed to protect our dogs if enough people speak up. When we are ready for the next step I will let you know.
This petition is for all land in MN because dogs can't read and accidents do happen. Neither justifies a deaths sentence.
The MN Trappers Association continues to refuse to compromise.
