Secretary Carson: Don't Betray MLK's Legacy by Changing HUD's Mission

Don't change HUD's mission statement by removing language on HUD's responsibility to create housing for all and to foster inclusive communities free from discrimination.

Why is this important?

50 years ago, spurred to action by the assassination of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., Congress passed the Fair Housing Act and gave the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) the responsibility of enforcing anti-discrimination and segregation in housing.

Now, Secretary Carson is following up his actions to undermine fair housing by trying to change HUD's mission to remove language that states their commitment to ending discrimination and for creating affordable housing for all.

Secretary Carson works for us, the People, and HUD's mission is his job description. Sign on now to tell Secretary Carson that we aren't going to go along with him moving the goal posts on his duties. The millions of people who rely on HUD and the tens of millions more who qualify for assistance need him to do the job he was hired to do!
