Senate, Don't Send a Fossil Fuel Shill to FERC!

Trump nominated Bernard McNamee to fill Robert Powelson's vacancy at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. McNamee is a pro-fossil fuel idealogue who wrote in his Earth Day op-ed for The Hill this year that fossil fuels "have dramatically improved the human condition – and continue to do so". Don't put him in charge of approving natural gas pipelines and LNG terminals and regulating the energy market. We are out of time.
Why is this important?
The IPCC just gave the world its conservative estimate that we have 12 years to do whatever we can to mitigate the effects of climate change before it's too late. And yet, Trump's nominee to fill Robert Powelson's vacancy on the five-member panel of commissioners at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is a pro-fossil fuel shill. We just learned that the Senate is planning to move quick to get Bernard McNamee confirmed. His confirmation hearing has already been scheduled for November. We need to push hard on senators to reject this terrible candidate.
