Sign the Treaty to Prohibit Nuclear Weapons Now

To be delivered to The New York State House, The New York State Senate, Governor Andrew Cuomo, The United States House of Representatives, The United States Senate, and President Donald Trump

Petition Statement

122 Nations worked hard to adopt this treaty which prohibits the threat of use, as well as use. With the facts of today’s realities, not one argument for them holds up. Leaving this for the next generation is beyond irresponsible. This most grave danger to all life, wastes trillions of our tax dollars needed for our urgent, real causes.
There are currently 592 signatures. NEW goal - We need 750 signatures!

Petition Background

Perhaps the most sudden and single irretrievable setback for Climate, Environment and Civilization would be just one of today's capacity nuclear weapons. We’ve thousands. A single detonation, by accident or design, would immediately become our number one public health issue. This industry already has caused millions of deaths of our loved ones by cancer with it's most highly toxic isotopes spread throughout our precious planet for decades. The largest single cost to US taxpayers (trillions, at least $ 4 million per hour, 24/7, is only the very low ball figure of KNOWN public monies accounted for), These, our invaluable taxes and resources are badly needed for all the vital causes we face today, those highlighted by MoveOn. The industry has operated outside any democratic process or accountability, and relies on a secret inner world where all except itself are under surveillance. Our Representatives remain silent and have been boycotting this intelligent, courageous Treaty being opened to the world Sept. 20th, 2017. With the help of a compliant media, the citizenry is purposely not informed. Our Reps themselves prove to be tragically uniformed, and need to be voted out if they aren’t part of the transformation of these jobs to those skills answering the great calls of the day. Nuclear weapons are useless against any of today's challenges, and by far remain themselves our greatest beyond any calculation terror threat, as well as targets for terror and cyber attack. Our government will say you are naive, and wrongly interfering with their masterful work in the balancing of power. You are neither. You understand realities well, and have a very wise heart and mind. This treaty finally highlights that the Threat of Use is a crime against humanity, as well as the possession, manufacture, and transport. We are in violation of sound international laws for well over 40 years. Our greatest minds at our greatest universities no longer need to be praised for focussing on mass terror, destruction of life, but rather time to divest and demand the focus on exciting innovations and solutions to our real and present challenges. We can do this. The vast majority of US citizens and people throughout the world, and our greatest leaders have long said with their feet and proclamations, get rid of these, now, in our lifetime. Sign this Treaty, save our planet, and keep positive moving forward! Thank you from all of us, to all of us.

fyi: a wonderful video in support of the Treaty:

And great financial news: Our first USA bank to stand up against Nuclear Weapons, Amalgamated of New York. Leading the way to divestment.
