Tell Congress: Pass the new $15/hr minimum wage bill!

Members of Congress must pass the bill introduced by Senators Bernie Sanders and Patty Murray that proposes to increase the national minimum wage to $15/hour. The current federal minimum wage is $7.25/hour – nowhere near enough for workers and our families to make enough to LIVE. It’s time for $15/hour!

Why is this important?

Some nights, I skip dinner to feed my kid.

I work hard at McDonald’s – but still make far too little to survive.

Senator Bernie Sanders and the Democratic leadership in Congress just introduced a federal bill to help me – and millions like me. A bill to raise the minimum wage to $15/hour across the country.

When 200 fast-food workers walked off their jobs in New York City in 2012 to demand $15 an hour and union rights, we were called crazy – President Obama had yet to call for even a $9 an hour federal minimum wage.

Then, we WON. Twenty-two million Americans have won raises, totaling $62 billion in the pockets of working people since this fight began.

Now, Bernie Sanders and Democrats across the board support $15/hour because we did not stop fighting. And we won’t stop fighting. The current federal minimum wage is $7.25/hour, and it’s simply nowhere near enough for workers and our families to live on.

Congress MUST pass this bill to provide help for the millions of people around the nation who barely scrape by every single day.
