Tell Our Presidential Candidates that Young People Care about Addressing Our Alzheimer's Crisis: ...

The Youth Movement Against Alzheimer's (YMAA) is asking presidential candidates to speak truth to the crisis that Alzheimer's presents and provide the following solutions during the remaining debates:

Invest in Better Care: We want to increase support and available resources for family caregivers with a particular focus on the growing number of young adult caregivers.

Invest in a Cure: We support increasing federal funding for Alzheimer's and dementia research.

Harness the Power of Volunteers: We promote the use of volunteerism to fight ageism and promote healthy aging.

Give Caregivers a Break: We advance economic and workforce policies that ease the economic hardship of caregiving on young people and their families.

Promote an Early and Accurate Diagnosis: We believe in the importance of early detection of Alzheimer’s and other dementias by encouraging early assessment, proactive brain health across the lifespan, and improved training and access to diagnostic tools among health providers. This gives families more time to take action and plan for better care.

Sign the petition to demand that presidential candidates support solutions for Alzheimer's and young caregivers. If we don’t provide for them, they can’t provide for society.

Why is this important?

Know anyone taking care of an aging family member or older adult? Yeah. So do we.

In fact, there are 16 million caregivers providing 18 billion hours in unpaid care for those affected by the disease. It is estimated that 25% of these individuals are millennials. Presidential candidates need to express this issue as a national priority and do more to provide solutions for Alzheimer's and young caregivers.
