New Hampshire superdelegates: Honor the will of the voters!

New Hampshire superdelegates—including Governor Maggie Hassan, Representative Ann Kuster, Senator Jeanne Shaheen, and DNC members Bill Shaheen, Kathy Sullivan, and Joanne Dowdell—must pledge to back the will of the voters at the Democratic party convention in Philadelphia.

Why is this important?

Superdelegates are a group of Democratic elected officials and other prominent party leaders who are free to vote for whomever they want, independent of the will of the voters.

That means that despite Bernie Sanders winning New Hampshire by a margin of over 20 percentage points, superdelegates from the state could override the will of the voters.
