Ask the Trader Joe’s CEO to clean up their act by cutting ties with suppliers that force birds to live in their own filth.
Why is this important?
Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) recently investigated a Trader Joe’s farm and found hens who were forced to feed on their own waste as they languished inside of massive manure pits with no access to food or water.
Even at supposedly ‘humane’ farms like this one, DxE found dead hens who had likely starved to death. DxE’s open rescue team found Lucy trapped in a pile of feces without access to food or water, and they brought Lucy to receive the medical care she needed. She is now living safe and happy at a sanctuary.
