University of Oregon: Withdraw Your Support of the Fracked Gas Pipeline Now
The University of Oregon must withdraw its membership from the Portland Business Alliance, which has publicly endorsed the proposed Pacific Connector LNG Pipeline, and publicly denounce the irresponsible project.
Why is this important?
It is the University of Oregon's responsibility to follow its Climate Action Plan to reduce carbon emissions, NOT to endorse what would be the largest greenhouse gas emitter in the state. The pipeline does more than just endanger our right to a stable climate, it also jeopardizes the safety and drinking water of marginalized communities across Oregon. The construction of this pipeline and export center would be a travesty. UO must follow its climate commitments and reject this irresponsible project by withdrawing from the Portland Business Alliance and publicly denouncing the fracked gas pipeline.
