Vegetarian/Vegan Rights in Charles County Detention Center

In the Charles County Detention Center in Southern Maryland it takes you at least a whole week to get your vegetarian tray. This does not include vegetarian personal hygiene items. Forget about vegan, you can't even get vegetarian. If you need or want to take a shower (and you are a vegetarian) you have to either bathe in just water or they suggest shampoo. The soap they offer for free has animal tallow in it. Even the ones you can order from commissary have tallow in it. If you are incarcerated you do not have a choice. Some people do not want to bathe in animal products. It is their choice and they should not be forced to either bathe in them or just bathe in water. There should be some options for vegetarians/vegans esp. if they are willing to pay for that option with their own money. In addition to this, there are only vegetarian options as far as meals. Every one is not the same. People should be able to make their own choices, not forced to eat and use animals if it is against their beliefs. Please sign this petition.Thank you.
